In 2005-the boys needed to do rite of passage as it is called in Kenya to transit boys to manhood. This was to be done in a sanitary and medically acceptable ways to ensure Public health. I had to look for medical personnel and also a clinical counselor. I did not succeed to all the boys who had this need due high cost involved in the exercise. Later on, realized that I could be able to help them slowly by slowly. Some boys did not wait but rushed and carried the passage in their unethical ways ending up contracting HIV and AIDS. Others died and some would become so sick. I realized that medical care was a real need too but I could not afford doing all. The more I did help in my own way the more the needs arose.

Formation of M-FIRM (MERCY-FAITH INITIATIVE RESTORATION MINISTRY)

In 2005 September, I started -Mercy Faith Initiative Restoration Ministry. It was registered by the Government of Kenya and I became its director. Its main mandate is to ensure the following,

1.  Prevention of the spread of HIV and AIDS by creating awareness to the community.

2. To provide food, to the homeless orphans mostly due to HIV and AIDS scourge,

3. To provide social and spiritual support to the orphans through love,

4.  To provide good nutrition to the homeless orphans

5. To provide good education to the orphans

6.  To provide clothing to the orphans.

7.  To provide medical care to the orphans under M-FIRM program

8. To promote hygiene amongst orphans

9.  To provide clean drinking water to the orphans.

10. To give hope to the orphans.

Any other matter as M-FIRM can handle in terms of help or collaboration with other organizations locally and worldwide.

Challenges faced by M-FIRM in achieving its mandate

1. Lack of an office

2. Lack of a land to erect a home for the homeless orphans and also for farming

3. Medical care to the orphans is not sufficiently done

4. Lack of enough Food and clothing

5. High education cost including school uniform, shoes, school fees and books which has become a heavy burden to M-FIRM
