We've lived in some small homes with limited wall space over the years, so it took us a while to think of ourselves as art collectors. We've also had a limited budget. Now, however, we find that artists often produce pieces of a size and price range that fit a modest budget, and can fit in small spaces in one's home.

Consider this grouping on a corner shelf. This is an odd little space next to a closet, yet, we can display small pieces from several artists here. Do you see the art broom?

Here's a nice collection of 3-d and 2-d art, sitting on some small side tables, next to our piano.

I bet you didn't think of this. Here's a spoon rest from an Iowa-based artist. Not only functional, but artistic, too, and dresses up our kitchen a little bit.

So don't be too quick to dismiss the possibility that you can also become an art collector. Style your home, and support local artists at the same time!
